Integrated seat clamps and integrated seat and seat post combinations are both technologies that are used on newer bikes. Integrated seat clamps are an old technology that has made its way back to BMX bikes. Integrated seat and seat post combinations are an invention born to the BMX bike that has now made its way to the entire world of cycling.

Many manufacturers still make BMX bikes using the high-tensile steel which is a heavier tubing material. Aluminum frames are also used for BMX bikes. They are predominately used in BMX racing bikes because they are light and stiff.

Newer technologies are used and some are replaced with the old technologies after they are disproved, while others remain because of their usefulness.
