Freestyle BMX
Dirt
BMX dirt or BMX trails is an event in which riders perform jumps and stunts on lines of dirt that are formed into large and small mounds. The jumps usually have a steep take off followed by a less steep landing. There are gaps of varying distances between each mound. Riders in this event try to come up with and land the craziest tricks and they are constantly pushing the limits.
Street
BMX street is very similar to BMX park, but there are some differences. During a BMX street event riders ride their bikes through a course and perform tricks on the obstacles set up along the way. Street courses have obstacles like ledges and stair rails and some have ramps.
Most freestyle BMX riders participate in multiple events. Generally the tricks in each event are similar they are just performed on another style medium. The bikes used for freestyle vary slightly between the different events mostly in how much they weigh. Generally vert and flatland riders use a heavier bike and park and street use a lighter weight bike.
