The difference between BMX and regular bikes
We have all seen BMX bikes, but many of us don’t know why they are different from regular bikes. There are unique differences in all bike styles and BMX bikes are no exception to that. They are designed and made for a specific purpose and they are unique in the fact that they were actually created after the sport of BMX was already in creation.
The sales of BMX bikes are growing faster than any other bike currently on the market. Originally BMX bikes were designed to resemble motocross motorcycles. The original BMX bikes were used to ride in the dirt. BMX bike riders would jump and race on dirt tracks and on the streets of their neighborhoods to imitate the things they were seeing in motocross.

There are many things that make a BMX bike different from other bikes. The BMX bike comes standard with 20 inch tires and the tread of a BMX tire is different compared to the average bicycle tire. On a regular bike tire there are a few grooves and ridges, a BMX tire has tread with large knobs and crevices to increase traction and help the bike maintain control in the dirt.
The frame on an average bicycle is heavier than the frame on a BMX bike. A BMX bike has a lightweight frame that is sturdy and strong enough to withstand shock. The strength and durability of the BMX bike frame is needed because riders use their bikes on dirt.
